Senior Geo-environmental Engineer

An increasing workload in environmental engineering means that we require an individual to join our existing staff and help the further expansion and development of the Company’s capability and workload.

It is expected that candidates would have about 5 to 10 years experience in the investigation of former industrial and brownfield sites and be confident with, and have a sound appreciation of, both the technical and legislative issues in the industry to include a sound appreciation of remediation technologies and techniques.

Experience and sound ability is also required in contract administration, client liaison and, project management. 

The opportunity would suite an individual with personal drive and a developed technical and business acumen.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of meaningful and targeted Phase I studies both within and outside of the planning context.
  • Design and implementation of Phase II investigations again both within and outside of the planning context where a sound appreciation of industrial and geo- chemistry will be expected to influence the design.
  • Preparation of Detailed Remediation Method Statements and Verification Plans based on a sound technical understanding of the risk issues from the full range of potential receptors from contamination in and from soils and groundwater, also to include ground gas and organic vapour.
  • Preparation of waste characterisation statements and Site Waste Management Plans.
  • Technical coaching of staff and management of project related work by junior engineers.
  • Assistance with any other aspect of the company’s business of a reasonable nature as and when called upon.
